USA (United States of America United-States of America) is a federal constitutional republic comprising fifty states and the Federal District. Most of the country is located in the center of North America, which is located 48 states and Washington, DC between the Pacific and the Atlantic Ocean and is bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. Alaska is located in the northwest of the continent, bordered by Canada to the east and Russia to the west across the Bering Strait. The United States comes in third or fourth in terms of area (3.79 million square miles, or 9.83 million km 2), and occupies third place in terms of population (307 million people). The United States and the distinction of being one of the most diverse countries in the world in terms of race and culture, and came as a result of the large immigration from different countries.
